Computer-Assisted Reconstruction of an Orbital Trauma Case Treated with a Patient-Specific Titanium Prosthesis

Virtual planning is ideally suited for maxillofacial operations as it allows the surgeon to assess bony and critical neurovascular structures enables him plan osteotomies fracture reductions. This study aims propose use of titanium-based patient-specific implants (PSI), along with virtual surgical advantages complications in a case orbital reconstruction. A three-dimensional model skull was generated using computed tomography (CT) data female patient Mimics software (version 19, Materialize, Leuven, Belgium). Numerical PSI models were designed 3-Matic 13, Belgium) non-affected orbit template. Surgical showed suitability numerical traumatic rehabilitation. Moreover, digital printing process enabled trial PSIs on patient’s face before surgery. Reconstruction Biomechanical studies are an essential part understanding limits traumas. The results confirmed predictions, reconstruction seems be more enhanced facilitated.
